Social isolation is a growing concern among older adults. Aging Best has several services aimed at reducing isolation and improving the quality of their lives.
Friendly Visitation: We match volunteers with older adults who would like somebody to visit them on an ongoing basis, either in person or virtually with tablets loaned through Aging Best.
Telephone Reassurance: Volunteers make regular, pre-scheduled calls to individuals who are socially and/or physically isolated. The service is provided as a routine wellness check and to reduce loneliness.
Congregate Meals: Partner Nutrition Activity Centers offer nutritious meals in congregate setting.
Robotic Pet Program: Older adults receive a robotic dog or cat. Robotic pets have the benefits of a pet companion without the time, resources, and physical exertion needed to take care of a live pet.
Transportation: We help coordinate transportation to nutrition activity centers, health and wellness classes, shopping, and medical appointments.

Case Management: Caregiving can be stressful and overwhelming. Aging Best assists caregivers with assessing needs, accessing services, and developing care plans.
Homemaker Services: Housework can be more difficult as we age and there are increased falls risks with chores. We help coordinate light housekeeping tasks provided in a person’s home.
Information & Assistance: We provide information on opportunities and services available to the individuals within their communities.
Minor Home Repair & Modification: We assist in coordinating minor modification or repairs to homes to support older adults remaining at home safely.
Respite: We coordinate temporary relief for caregivers to provide a brief period of relief or rest for caregivers.
Adult Daycare: We help coordinate care for dependent adults in a supervised protective, congregate setting during some portion of the day.
Transportation: We help coordinate transportation to nutrition activity centers, health and wellness classes, shopping, and medical appointments.
Supplemental Services: We assist in providing supplies or coordinating services on a limited basis to complement the care provided by caregivers (medical/incontinence supplies, nutritional supplies, durable medical equipment, etc.).
Support Groups: We assist with locating and connecting individuals with groups led by a trained individual help caregivers discuss their common experiences and concerns and develop a mutual support system.
Home Delivered Meals: Older adults who are physically unable to attend their local senior center, and their caregivers, can receive home-delivered meals. For many homebound seniors, the home-delivered meal program is vital to their continued independence.
Grandparents Raising Grandchildren: We assist grandparents who are raising their grandchildren with education, support, and legal services involving grandchildren in their care.
Legal Assistance: We help coordinate with attorneys for clients in need of representation for issues regarding guardianship, income, health care, long-term care, nutrition, housing, utilities, abuse/neglect, and age discrimination.

Pet Care: We understand how important pets are, and we understand how expensive pet care can be on a fixed income. Through our pet care program, we can help with pet care expenses, including pet food, routine veterinary care, and supplies,0 so older adults can continue to care for their pets.

Medicare & Medicaid: Our specialists are available to answer questions about Medicare and Medicaid, as well as assist with applications for money savings programs. We assess individuals for their eligibility in for financial assistance.
Missouri SHIP is the Missouri State Health Insurance Assistance Program that has a highly trained team of volunteers who offer free, unbiased assistance to help individuals looking for help navigating the Medicare program.
Aging Best has a partnership with Missouri SHIP which allows you to make an appointment by calling 1-800 390-3330 or by clicking the MO SHIP button below. We encourage everyone to review their Medicare plan information annually, especially during Open Enrollment October 15th – December 7th.
Marketplace Health Insurance: We have licensed Navigators who help with navigating marketplace insurance through the Affordable Care Act.

Applications can be confusing and overwhelming. We help older adults complete and submit applications for housing, money savings programs, weatherization assistance, Senior Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (provides low-income seniors with $50 in vouchers to access locally grown fruit, vegetables, honey, and herbs), property tax credits, Medicaid, Medicare, and more.

Long-Term Care Ombudsman: Our Ombudsman assist with mediation and resolution of complaints relating to conditions or actions adversely affecting the health, safety, welfare, and rights of residents of long-term care facilities.

As we age, it’s important to take care of our health. Aging Best offers several health and wellness programs.
Aging Mastery Program: AMP participants set goals for positive actions in many aspects of their lives such as exercise, nutrition, finances, advance care planning, community engagement, and healthy relationships.
A Matter of Balance: The program enables participants to reduce the fear of falling by learning to view falls as controllable, setting goals for increasing activity levels, making small changes to reduce fall risks at home, and exercise to increase strength and balance.
Mind Over Matter: A workshop that helps older women build skills and confidence to adopt exercises and make diet changes to improve bladder health.
PEARLS: Program to Encourage Active, Rewarding Lives is designed to reduce symptoms of depression and improve quality of life.
Tai Chi for Arthritis: This program helps reduce falls, stress, and pain by improving muscular strength, balance, flexibility, and fitness.
Healthy Living: Program to assist participants with building confidence in managing their health and keeping them active and engages in their lives.
Walk with Ease: A walking program intended to reduce the pain of arthritis, increase balance and strength, and improve overall health.
Drums Alive: “Using rhythm as the source of inspiration to discover a new group fitness experience Drums Alive® combines the benefits of a traditional physical fitness program with the brain affected benefits of music and rhythm. Drums Alive® is a program that fosters a healthy balance physically, mentally, emotionally and socially!”
Circle of Friends: Circle of Friends ® is a group model aimed at alleviating and preventing loneliness.
